Fantastic GTUK British Championships results

7 Students – 15 Medals – 8 Gold & British Champions!!

Beccles Taekwondo Club took a squad of 7 students to the GTUK British Championships held at Ryton near Coventry on Saturday 24th October 2015.

This is a 300 mile round trip from Beccles, and many of the students come from further afield, Great Yarmouth, Lowestoft, Southwold, so this makes it even more exceptional to travel all that way and come back with such a huge medal haul.

We even got a live radio interview with BBC Radio Suffolk who were impressed with the result!

So a big congratulations goes to:

Barbara Mazza, Veteran Female Black Tag: Silver Patterns, Silver Sparring

Jason Drake, Veteran Male Black Tag: Gold Patterns, Bronze Sparring, Gold Destruction

Dean Harding, Adult Male Blue Belt: Gold Patterns, Gold Sparring

George Zachariades, Veteran Male Yellow Belt: Gold Patterns, Silver Sparring

Jade Kirby, Adult Female Yellow Tag: Gold Patterns, Gold Sparring

Alfie Woodcraft, Junior Male Yellow Belt: Gold Patterns, Silver Sparring

Maddison Harding (only 5 years old) Pee wee Yellow Belt: Bronze Techniques, Bronze Sparring

You all demonstrated incredible Taekwondo Spirit throughout the day.

Taking part in tournaments can be a daunting experience, but it is the only true way to evaluate your progress in Taekwondo, (and the quality of the teaching), but most of all it shows the dedication to your training that is required to succeed at a National level.

A Massive WELL DONE to you all.

Thank you to Grand Master Oldham, Master Auciello and all the Seniors, Mrs A and everyone that contributed to the excellent running of an incredible day.

A big thank you to Mr Gillett for giving us (Nidge & Susie) a lift to Coventry on the Bungay bus, just like old times.

Thank you to Master Auciello as we now have our new Breaking Horse. It’s going to be awesome!
