A message from Mr & Mrs B and their Black Belt Team 🥋
“This weeks Monday and Thursday Taekwon-do classes were probably the best group of students we have ever had!”
…. or maybe it’s just that we are getting the hang of teaching Taekwon-do after all these years 😁
Seriously, it is a real pleasure to teach such focused and hard working groups, and to see that Taekwon-do does make a difference to the lives and wellbeing of students of all ages.
Onwards & Upwards Beccles Taekwondo!
FREE Taekwondo Summer Classes Come & Try
Summer holidays are a great time to drop in for a Free Session, where you will be made very welcome by all at the club … we already have over 50 registered students!
One little Taekwondo Warrior on crutches from sparring … but she will be back soon!
Katie damaged her knee when sparring in the Beccles dojang on Monday evening, but she was excellently attended to by Mrs Bedingfield, cold pack applied, then a late night follow up to A&E to check the damage. Fortunately soft tissue damage only and will mend soon.
Katie’s Mum said “These things happen when they all try so hard! She’ll mend soon enough and she’s doing her best to not let it stop her! She was looking cheeky in the photo cause it was 1am after a long wait in A&E and she was finding it very amusing trying to figure the crutches out!”
All at Beccles Taekwon-do wish her a speedy recovery.
Great group of students from our Monday class, just emphasising that Taekwondo is suitable for all ages, the Monday class students and instructors ages ranged from 5 to 64 👊
Photos show some of our Monday class students, with many sporting their Free Beccles Taekwon-do T-shirts which they were awarded when they came for a Free Come and Try session!
The force looks to be especially strong with this group 👊

Those that do will be rewarded with a free Beccles Taekwondo T-shirt.
We help to instil a confidence and inner strength in our students for their oncoming challenges of modern day life.
It takes 3 to 4 years training to get ready for a black belt grading!
We teach mixed age classes with students from the age of 5 upwards, all abilities, working at your own level.
Experienced instructors and assistants work with you throughout your journey.
We are part of National ( GTUK ) and International ( ITF ) organisations that teaches the Martial Art of Taekwondo along with some old fashion values:
Respect, Courtesy, Integrity, Perseverance, Self Control, Indomitable Spirit.
So now is a great time to start a family activity and join our Taekwon-do lessons.
Peewee 5-11, Junior 12-17, Adult 18-39 & Old Tigers 40+
We will teach you how to fight and defend yourself, using both hands and feet, and the training will make you stronger, fitter and more confident.
It’s never too late to learn a martial art, we teach the young and not so young, so bring the children and we’ll teach you all at the same time!
Our students don’t just come from Beccles, they come from all over the region to learn our martial art, Norwich, Lowestoft, Loddon, Southwold, Great Yarmouth, Gorleston, Oulton Broad, Halesworth, Harleston . . .

Congratulations to all Beccles and Bungay Taekwondo students on their well deserved 100% pass rate for this summer’s belt grading.
Well proud Beccles instructors.
Mr & Mrs B.
The examination was held at Bungay High School on 23rd June 2019
GTUK Regional examiner Mr Steve King 6th Dan from Wellingborough, said this was an excellent grading and that there were some very promising performances especially during the sparring. He also congratulated the newest white belt Taekwondo students on their 1st belt grading and said he was very impressed with the focus and standards displayed by the young students.
All students were rewarded with a fantastic 100% pass rate!
The 3 hour examination includes demonstrations of techniques including kicks, punches and blocks, patterns (sequences of moves), sparring, self-defence, power destruction and Korean terminology for the techniques in their individual belt grade syllabuses.
The clubs are run independently but both are affiliated to the same Taekwon-do association the GTUK, and teach the original ITF style of Taekwondo. The clubs are very family orientated, with many parents training with their children. The youngest students are 5 years old and there is no upper age limit.
The Beccles club is run by National Instructors: Mr and Mrs Bedingfield, who are well supported by their team of Black belt and Black-tag students. Classes are held on Mondays and Thursdays 7-8.30pm at the Venue, Beccles Sports Centre, the training dojang is situated in the activity room.
The Bungay club is run by International Instructor Mr Clinton Gillett 5th Degree, who is supported by his Black belt and Black-tag students, classes are held on Tuesdays 7-8pm and Thursdays 7-8.30pm at Bungay High School, with a special class for school students on Wednesdays 4-5pm.
